Sheepadoodle Dog Registration

The Sheepadoodle also referred to as Sheepapoo, Sheeppoo, Sheepdoodle, and Sheepdogpoo

  • General Appearance: The Sheepadoodle or Sheepapoo is a designer breed, bred from an Old English Sheepdog and a Poodle. The Sheepadoodle can tend towards one parent or the other in appearance—some will have more of the square face of an old English sheepdog and others will have a more poodle-like domed head.

  • Proportion & Symmetry: No feature being in such prominence from either excess or lack of quality that the animal appears poorly proportioned.

  • Substance: Most Sheepadoodles weigh in at 60 to 80 pounds, and range in height from 16 to 22 inches. Sheepadoodles lifespan can be anywhere from 12 to 15 years.

  • Head: Ears hanging close to the head, set at or slightly below eye level. The ear leather is long, wide, and thickly feathered; however, the ear fringe should not be of excessive length. Skull moderately rounded, with a slight but definite stop. Cheekbones and muscles flat. Length from occiput to stop about the same as the length of muzzle.

  • Body: Rather short and very compact, broader at the rump than at the shoulders, ribs well sprung and brisket deep and capacious. Neither slab-sided nor barrel-chested. The loin is very stout and gently arched.

  • Forequarters: Shoulders well laid back and narrow at the points. The forelegs dead straight with plenty of bone. The measurements from the withers to the elbow and from the elbow to the ground are practically the same

  • Coat: Sheepadoodle coats are often a mix of their Poodle and Old English Sheepdog parents' coats and colors.

  • Color: The main colors of Sheepadoodles are a mix of black and white, but they can also be solid black and, in some cases, gray.

  • Gait: When trotting, movement is free and powerful, seemingly effortless, with good reach and drive, and covering maximum ground with minimum steps. Very elastic at a gallop. May amble or pace at slower speeds

  • Temperament: Well behaved, adaptable, and affectionate companion with an even disposition; generally active, alert, and playful.
